MAGAZINE ARTICLE INDEX:

Perhaps this is all "Greek" to you. Perhaps this will  explain. This index is a self-extracting, zipped Spreadsheet file. That means, you do not have to have WinZip, etc., to unzip it after downloading. It has 5 columns:
  -Topic
  -Subtopic
  -Description/Title
-Magazine (Hot VWs or VW Trends)
  -Month/Year
Sorry, but this is home-built from magazines in my possession. There are gaps, but, with over 500 entries, it is still very useful.
Excel allows you to "sort" according to any one or combination of column contents. More on that later.

INSTRUCTIONS:        (TOP)

  1. 1st DOWNLOAD the .zip file to your computer by clicking on the Click Here link & following screen instructions. Be sure to remember the location (folder) where you chose to save it. Default is C:\TEMPzip folder on your PC.
  2. Next, navigate, on your PC, to the folder you picked in step 2. If you are on Windows, this will be either File Manager or Explore screen, depending on the version of Windows.
  3. Now, unzip the file by double-clicking the downloaded file icon. You will have to provide a location for the new Magindex97.xls file. A good place is somewhere in your "My Documents" folder. Pick a place so you can find it easily when you want to reference it or print it out.
  4. USING THE INDEX:
USING THE INDEX:
  1. After opening the MagIndex97.xls file with MS Excel (if you don't have Excel, there is a link above which you can use to download a free "view only" version), you may browse or search it "as-is." It has been sorted by Topic, then sub-topic, then description.
  2. Without going into much detail regarding Excel, you can SEARCH by going to Edit menu and select Find... Type in the word and "go at it."
  3. You can SORT the data differently, but you better go to the Help menu for this. Not enough room here for that. If you really mess it up bad, just be sure to NOT save it when you close.
